Nothing conveys speed, power and grace like a thoroughbred race horse. 

The high-stakes world of horse racing takes center stage on ESPN with Spring Horse Racing, a series of Derby Prep races which annually spotlight the season’s most promising three-year-olds. This series of races ranging in length from 7/8 to 1 1/8 miles, give the top Triple Crown contenders a chance to build their reputations in advance of the season’s crowning events. 

Among the featured races are the Wood Memorial, one of the traditional final prep races for the Kentucky Derby; the Breeders Cup, and the Kentucky Oaks, a popular pre-Derby race for fillies.
